New Mexico is the second-highest in the nation for violent crime and auto theft. It also ranks high for property crime. These stats are concerning for personal safety and are detrimental to tourism and business, which hinders New Mexicans’ opportunity to provide for their families. Many of the problems we face as a state can be traced back to legislation and politics.
